Physical Therapist - Physical Medicine & Rehab | Children's Medical Center of Dallas | Plano, TX
Summary
This position is located at Children's Legacy campus in Plano and is a
staff therapist who participates in the evaluation and treatment of
patients based upon current principles and practices of PT. This
position will support the new Sports Medicine program at the Legacy
Sports Medicine Center which opened its dedicated therapy gym and clinic
space to the public last year. The Sports Medicine Center provides
surgical and non-surgical care and rehabilitation to young and growing
athletes suffering from sports-related injuries and issues.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program required;
Master's degree preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
- License to practice Physical Therapy in the State of Texas required
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification required.
- OCS certification preferred
Experience
- One to three years experience in Sports Medicine. Pediatric
experience preferred
Specific knowledge, skills, and abilities
- The ability to hear and communicate with others in a clear,
understandable, and professional manner on the phone and in person; and
the demonstrated use of good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to interact with peers, medical staff, patients/families,
vendors and other customers in a manner that represents Children's
positively.
- Effective organizational skills and attention to detail; effective
follow-through, and commitment to excellence.
- The ability to provide clear and accurate direction, and the ability to
train others.
Physical demands
- Significant portions of daily assignments involve application of manual
skills requiring motor coordination in combination with finger
dexterity, e.g., typing, machine operations, administration of
treatments, injections, etc.
- Significant portions of daily assignment involve prolonged standing,
transporting material, equipment, patients, or lifting, moving or
carrying heavy materials.
